How can this be anything to do with what arranger players want? I mean, first no-no is that there is a 76 on the bottom. No REAL arranger player would need that! And then there is a split on the lower manual as well as the upper... once again, it has been proven (by Yamaha, so it MUST be true!) that you only need one sound on your lower manual.

A lower MIDI controller kbd can of course be split into 2 (or more) zones. When I had the T2, and the CME 76 I split the CME at C3.
The lower trigered the chord changes, the upper was assigned to R3. It worked.

what I want to hear is how this song would sound on a T3/T4 played in a similar way as Leigh plays this Wersi Duo..

Even just without the lower would help me to compare. But I would like the lower as it is what I will do if I get a T4.

This should be both easy and fun for someone here??
Anyone with a 2 tier stand (or equivlant) and a MIDI kbd can easlily do ths.

Trouble is, although Yamaha provide a second keyboard input, so that its' parameters are stored as part of the Registration (it's a PITA to have to call up the lower's sounds after you have recalled the registration... It OUGHT to be 'one button' does it ALL), they only allow for ONE sound on that lower manual. So you hook up a 76 or an 88, and all it can do is ONE sound...

I talked with Steve Demming about this, but I think it's going to take more than me to make Yamaha aware that the lower manual OUGHT to be able to be split exactly as much as the upper... If you are thinking of adding a second keyboard to a T4 or an S910, contact Yamaha directly and mention this...

The reason that home organs work so well is that ALL the parameters for ALL the manuals gets stored in the Registration. If you have to split this up between the upper and lower manuals, you are missing out on the whole POINT of a two manual system...

Actually, you could do this with the T3 or T4. However, it would take a series of registrations linked with keyboard splits, but it could be done, and I sincerely believe the results would sound even better. Registrations are an extremely powerful tool in any manufacturer's keyboard, and when properly utilized, they can do things beyond your wildest imagination. They must, of course, be used with skill and timing, which can be difficult on some very fast songs. However, on a song as slow as the one posted, it's not difficult if you have the talent. You could clearly see on the U-Tube demonstration that the performer was never in a hurry to make the changes, but it was also obvious that he knew exactly what button to select and what function it would execute, thus the smoothness of his performance. So, as the post states "I Want This..." you can have this if you are willing to learn all the nuances of the keyboard's operating system(s).

Cheers,

Gary

I have shared a little of my taste in music with you all.
This is superb to me...

The whole poit of this post is:
I would very much like to see someone here with a T3 or T4 demo this song, using the best registratins you can muster.
It would be nice to have the same thing as Leigh does with the lower, but I would be hapy just to hear a compareison to the Wersi.

I know some of you can do it....please.
How good can you make this song with the Yamaha T3/T4??

Lee,

Unfortunately, I don't own a T3 or T4, just a lowly PSR-3000, therefore I do not have the three-way split capability they have and cannot do this. I'm fairly confident there are some players on the Zone that are T3 owners that can pull this off without a lot of effort. Wish I could, but I just don't have the hardware.

Good Luck,

Gary
