"I have done a bit of research, I've seen the Tyros 4 on sale on various Italian sites (about 10 of them) and all their prices are the same € 3679 ($5125 £3215) 20% VAT included.
Even the shop where I got mine for €3250 last Friday has the new price of € 3679.

So I was quite lucky to get mine just in time at € 429 less. ($597, £374).
I don't understand why all shops have the same price, is this Yamaha giving order ?

Why this increase ?

The Tyros price is with no options included."

Simple.....
the UK VAT level rises from 17.5% to 20% on 1.1.11 ...... so these prices are premature.
Probably because if you order now , your delivery will not be before that date

Well, IMHO it is too much now. It is not a PRO arranger/WS. It maybe worth it to some, but if you really think about it it's pretty expensive. Right now it is about the same (actualy more) as a PA2XPRO so that's pushing it already.

Same thing happened to home organs (and still does). $35,000 for a Roland organ? Maybe that's why the organ industry died out here.

There's a limit.

What ever happened to lower prices = more sales in the long run & more profts in the end?

Only way you get more sales is to have more players... and the industry is failing epically to entice new players into using arrangers. Lower the price below WS's, and it STILL won't happen (after all, there ARE plenty of arrangers priced below WS's).

Got to voice and style them for music from the 21st century, not the first half of the 20th!
