For those of us whom were teens in the 1950s and 1960s, this may be of interest. CLICK HERE

HOW COOL! As 14 year old, in 1959, I would ride my Cushman motor scooter From Biloxi Miss to New Orleans to just walk around and listen to the music. Was too young to get in anywhere, but really took in the street music. Never actually saw Fats, but his sound was everywhere, along with the sound of the Neville brothers and lots of others.

It was Fats who "showed" me the importance of a bass line and that it could be played on a keyboard.

Good find, Gary!

Awesome post Gary! I worked in Key West with saxman Al Wallace who cut several songs with Fats Domino. I love New Orleans music.
