It's so freaking cold here that when you bring your gear into a pub you can't even plug it in or take it out of the box until it warms to room temperature and the condensation evaporates.

I was doing sound for a band lastnight and it took me an hour to setup everything for them. 20 minutes to take it down.

Regards
James

(1) roll cart, (1) keyboard, (2) powered monitors, (1) x stand and (1) accessories bag - 6 minutes if I'm in a hurry. Can play large rooms with plenty of boom with my QSC K-8s (on the floor).

First time at the pub - about 20 minutes.
Second time at the pub - about 5 minutes.

Irishacts a tip is to have your gear inside your house where it is warm, then start your car to warm it before loading it with your stuff. Then the gear is still warm and toasty when you get to the gig.. But that does leave less time for drinking though...

Who said anything about drinking alcohol?

I usually sleep over in a hotel and drive home sunday. Lot's of time to drink and have a good time. Free drinks is a perk in our business, a shame to let a good beer go to waste.

But seriously, I used to drink a lot more in my earlier playing years. Now-a-days it is not that often really. I usually have a standing agreement with the bartender that he'll make me virgin versions of the drinks in case some guests buy me one.

That guy is a wizard, he even makes a virgin scotch on the rocks!

7 to 9 minutes on average. It's on the video I posted last year.
