I've seen a couple of PA800 for sale, and I'm a bit keen on getting one. But I see the people selling them are talking about that it has got lots of middle-eastern styles and sounds. Does that mean that this is a localized version of the PA800? Or does it mean the seller has loaded it with lots of personal styles?

Can it then be returned to factory preset, or load in the "Western" version of it's software? Or will I be stuck sounding like a Kebab-shop? No offense to Kebab-shops... I quite like kebabs

No worries...
All you have to do is reload the OS and musical resources and you will have all factory default.
The most imoport thing is condition!

Do not get a PA800EX as it is Orietal and Mideastern.

based on your previous responses as to the environment in which you play, the PA-800 would not be a very good choice. The PA800 is an awesome keyboard, however it is very sensitive. If you plan on spilling stuff on it, then it might be better not to waste your money. By the way, there is a middle-eastern verison of the PA800, called the PA-800EX.

Oh yes...I forgot about the EX...Oriental and mideastern PA800, never seen one.
So, If you are getting a plain PA00 you are good to go even if the owner loaded other stuff...you can reset it to factory.

I have never heard of it being any more sensitive than others??

Don't know what music you are attempting, but I can assure you, the regular PA800 version is a terrific board that will allow you to play virtually ANY type music you can dream of. I've been at it for 3 years with my 800 and would never turn back. 50's, country, jazz, big band, rock, latin, EVERYTHING............ It's a hidden gem

I play mostly rock. 70s 80s and 90s rock.

Why a PA800 when there is PA2X Pro at same price level advertised at Finn?

Anyway, if your limit is N.Kr 7000,- , I doubt you'll get any PA800 at that price,
but more likely a PA500.

I tried to buy the PA2X but he had sold it already. So PA800 was next on the list.

My 7000,- budget got streched to 15000,- because I decided to look for a newer generation arranger.

Looks like it's the Tyros 3 who are the "best buy" if go for a 2nd hand top line arranger just now.
It's no doubt, it is the buyers market, and it is possible to negotiate into a real good bargain.
If it did not sound as CD'ish and compressed (read DEAD and not Lively) I would have bought one already,
even if "only" 61 keys.(Could be combinet with G-70)
Second thought, it may be worth it if also buy all MidiSpot styles to make the T3 to rock... We'll see.

Strange to see how low the new T4 are priced, in fact lower than a unused T3 in some stores. Looks like
Yamaha work hard to be the #1 brand when count items sold in the top arranger keyboard business.

First time that I hear that the PA800 is very "sensitive".
Spill "stuff" that contain water in any keyboard and all of them will die for electric short circuit, or maybe there is a brand that water proof?.

I think the pricing is also the stores competing to get sell the most units. These top of the line products usually sell straight after launch, then they stop selling. And the stores forget to remove, or re-price the older models. I've seen online stores still charging 10000 for a Roland E-60, which has been out of production for some time now...

I remember when the PA2X came, one store sold the PA1X Pro 5000,- higher than the new board.

Electrical short circuit happens only if the liquid is conductive. I know of a lot of pianos that can take a pint or two. Sticky yes... broken no. Some of them will play everything at full velocity until they dry completely. And some stop working until they dry.

Most circuits in modern keyboards use short-circuit and reverse polarity protection.

Also many low voltage circuits can also function fully submerged in water.

I've even seen computers cooled by submerging the electronic parts in liquid. Both water, oil and other coolant solutions.
