My only complaint is I wish they would make a better system with a quick release lever on top of the handle to close the cart instead of always having to bend down to squeeze the cable release !!!

There are allot of choices but the R&R to me is still the best for a musician gigging. http://www.rocknrollercart.com/downloads/R-Trac-Wheel-Press-Release-12-1-10-Al l-models-color.pdf

Donny,

Have you any photos of you and your cart, or anyone for that matter, love to see them. I think you are right after 10 years the tubes will be porous, they are not like tubeless tyres.

Here's my R&R R10 fully loaded and ready to go.

I created a second shelf for mine, and more recently, DonM had one made for his R10 as well.

The cart is wonderful...(ROCK 'N ROLLER MULTI CART (model R10). The only glitch is the tires. I've had it at least 10 years now. These last few years, my tires either go completely flat, or I have to pump them with air pretty often. I remember once the inner tube was ripped apart and another time it was just a plain leak in the tube.

I'm thinking I might have to join the "inner tube of the month club" at this rate. Anyone else having problems with their tires?

Lucky

Some ex-Hells Angel at the nursing home probably slit your tires. They're known to do that.

So I‘m getting a lesson here in R&R carts 101.

I forgot about “dry rot”

Fix-a-flat might not be a bad idea

“the tires are fairly thin so the cart rides smoothly”...
“the tires are also easily punctured by the tiniest items” and that
How could I not figure that out myself?
http://www.handtrucksrus.com/CrashDetail.aspx?id=1058
All Terrain Multi Cart  Collapsible Platform Truck   Our Price: $259.99 looks suspiciously like an overpriced R&R cart

“Locking Triple Strength Stretch Cords”
“Hand Truck Locks  - Secure your hand truck!”
“The Liberator Aluminum Curb Ramp 22" x24"“
Not bad ideas either!

===============

Dave / mdorantes:…..where did you get YOUR solid tires? What color is the hub? Do they add much weight to the cart? Do they add any “drag” or “resistance” at all? With the original wheels I can pretty much glide a full load using one hand most of the time.

Dana (the orig company) told me that Platt (www.plattcases.com) took over distribution in the USA. Their prices are crazy? $38 for one rear wheel (but they DO include a cotter pin!)...single underneath wing nuts are close to $20 each. Might as well buy a new cart.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dmi&field-keywords=Rock-N-Roller+cart&x=23&y=20

The specs on the Micro-cart (R2) seem to make it a natural for carrying luggage and appliances around the house, etc. And I think with enough WD-40 on the axel‘s, you can also use it as a skateboard.

Answers to the above questions?

Lucky

That's not a bad price!

I see they're making them now with the "no flats" wheels.

Before this goes off the board......

to those using the new R&R cart with the solid wheels?.....or those that added them to their older cart?...

Does the cart wheel as smoothly with these solid tires?

They appear to be slim? Do they go across uneven ground (dirt/grass, etc)as easily as the softer inflatable tires?

I'm thinking of buying a new cart rather than add the wheels to my present one.

I would just buy new wheels & still use the AIR wheels vs the Hard wheels, makes for a much "smoother" & "softer" ride over all terrains.

There are lots of places to purchase wheels--including soft tires that are filled with a specialized foam to prevent flats. And, because they're relatively small, they're not very expensive. http://www.nextag.com/cart-wheels/shop-html

The R&R carts are unique in their design. I, like many of us that have been in this biz for any length of time, have used lots of other brands and types of carts before R&R became available. After using the R-10 for many years I would never go back to another brand and style.

I would just buy the factory correct wheels from R&R...lets face it how many miles are you going to put on a KART?
