So what are we all expecting...

Korg Kronos, which might be a workstation of some kind....

M-audio will present an analog type of synth

Roland might present Software versions of their old synths

Roland might have a keyboard surprise for us it could be a Fantom replacement...

NI might present their first Masterkeyboard controller created espescially to work with their software and incorporate things like KORE and Machine, this is something i have been expecting to ghappen for quite some time now.

I think NAMM 2011 might be an awesome one for Keyboard instruments.

There could also be a new keyboard project shown from the previous founders of Open-labs.

And if the rumor is true that Korg and Kay parted their ways i would not be surprised to see a fully fledged software/vst version of KARMA 3.0

---------

But what are we expecting on the arranger part...

Maybe Korg will show us their new PA3X arranger, and Yamaha might show us a 76 keys click on keyboard for T4 transforming it intoo an Organ... But that is as far as the rumormills go...

What else can we expect?

Though I've got a Namm 2011 entrance badge reserved for me, I've decided to opt out this year because, on top of the long travel distance (360+ miles x 2) I've just recently upgraded to Tyros 4 . Interestingly enough, the most enjoyable thing about Namm for me (2nd to getting that 1st peek at new gear) is re-connecting with old friends & associates (both manufacturer/dealer reps & musician buds), so will miss seeing Peter Baartmans & Martin Harris, Simon Inkly, Mark Anderson, and SZ buds Frank, Tapas, Manuel, AJ, etc. That said, Tapas promised to keep me 'up to the minute' updated (via cellphone) and also be shooting video with his new Canon MP30 vidcam too. I'm especially excited to see & hear what new arranger Korg's going to be showcasing, as I definitely haven't ruled out getting it eventually. Man, I love how this new technology gives us all the convenience to be virtually anyplace, anywhere, and instantly live.

Jimmy, hows it going? Wow, it's been a long time since we met at the 1st SZ jam in SJ. Unfortunately, Namm membership's restricted to music product manufacturers, and music dealers, so in order to get a Namm badge, you'll need to know a Namm member willing to sponsor and reserve a badge for you. In addition to checking your badge, security at the door will be requiring you to show your pic ID as well.

Hey Scott,

Glad to hear from you again! Although I'm just a lurker here, we missed your presence here!
Yes, we need to have another West Coast Jam here in CA.
How's your career in music? Are you using now your new T4?
I thought I could visit 2011 NAMM this year. I live very close to where it will be held. But I guess I'll just wait for now. I don't know anybody that can provide a pass or badge.

Regards,
Jimmy

Hi Jim, though gigs weren't as plentiful in 2010 as in years past, things are going well considering the economy and I'm optimistic for 2011. Took out the Tyros 4 for the first time on New Years Eve and it sounded awesome and had the party goers on the dance floor the entire evening. Jimmy, because you live so close to Namm, it certainly would be great if you could get in. I suggest contacting the music dealer you bought your keyboard(s) from and ask (nicely). Certainly wouldn't hurt to try. Good luck. smile
