Yesterday a friend visited me with his Solton X1. He is very happy, but I found out some sounds do not sound OK (eg distortion guitar is far too distorted....some others sound similar)

We did an upgrade to OS 5.0, but I think he needs a full OS version to get rid of this problem.

A full version 3.x or 4.x will do ?
Who is able to help my friend ?

Roel, I have 3.0a USA version..I can email it to you if you like, but I am sure someone can send you a newer version....I have Rel.3.0a and Firm 3.0a for the X1..

All you will need is to reload the FIRM file to get the sounds back on track. Fran, if you can, pls. go ahead and send him the firm000.snd (or equivalent) file.

Now my friend Johan asks me how to reload the FIRM file. I myself have no idea (anymore) because it is more than 4 years since the X1 left my house.

Is there any site where instructions are available? Perhaps AJ is able to tell how to do it.
