Hi all,

I have been using a Lexar 512K Jumpdrive and it works fine. I decided to buy a backup usb stick. I figured another Lexar would work. I bought a 2GB Firefly. I insert it into the Ty2. The Ty2 usb light blinks. It then updates drive status. Then I select the usb tab from the screen and it says disk error. So I thought I would just reformat it on the Ty2 and it says no drive. I check the firefly on my PC and it works fine. Both the 512K and the 2GB drives are formated to FAT. I checked the 512K drive in the Ty2 again and it works fine.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Chris

Your drive has U3 or similar technology on it that allows you to run programs on it. This technology must be removed befor the drive will be compatible.

Check www.u3.com/uninstall

Thanks for your reply. The U3 removal app. does not recognize the 2GB Firefly. It asks me to install a drive. So either it's my PC or the drive doesn't include U3. My PC recognizes the drive and when it opens up there are no programs displayed. So who knows.

Try formatting the 2GB stick with FAT32 rather them FAT.
Hope this helps

Thanks Bill. But I tried this also and no-go.
Anyone want a good deal on a 2GB new drive?
