I have installed pattern expansion board and when I turned keyboard on I did not get "WARNING!!!FLASH FORMATTING" message. So I did a test to see if I could could load more than 50 patterns. I was able to load 50 before install. After install I loaded a total of 52. Surely the expansion will allow me to load more than 1 extra pattern. Ketron states that after install you could possibly load 170 on the xd9. I realize the bigger the pattern size the less you will be able to load. Has anyone installed pattren memory on the xd9? If so....how much did this increase your pattern load?. Ketron also states that you could load up to 170 patterns but there are only 100 pattern storage spots....is this suppose to incraese when you install memory? ....help please.

Pianoman51,

Please run FLASH test to see if Pattern expansion is recognized by XD9. If not, you might have to ensure that it is properly fitted or change the chip.

Thanks,

AJ

PMan?

Where did you get your expansion and what did it cost.

Also, you got it working yet?

I ordered mine from Maqam music (they have a web page by the same name) and it cost around $120 including shipment.

The chip I got from Ketron US came with NO instructions. After I figured out how to open the keyboard and installed it, when I started up the Vega, it zapped all my old saved patterns. I had these saved on disk but not in the same order as I had in RAM so my registrations got screwed up.

Before installing for anyone who is thinking about buying it, make sure you save your pattern or write down the order you had them saved in RAM if you use them in your registrations.

There is also a page 2 for the patterns to access after you have used up the first 100 slots. So pattern no. 101 will be under the first button for the Patterns on page 2.
