I've been trying to convert my backing sequences from the i3 to SMF the hard way - recording all tracks into Emagic. There's got to be an easier way of doing this. Have any of you heard of a i-series bsq file convertor to SMF1 and vice versa.

http://www.musitronics.de sells Korg i3 Rom upgrades that contain bsq to midi operation.
Else I used to record with midirec
(http://www2.iicm.edu/midiprog ) but then some midi editing is still necessary.
Hint: press after recording and before starting bsq that the sound settings are transmitted.
