I have X1 and I know that some sounds like bass and lead and some of the synth sounds from no 80 to 100 are FM sounds and you can edit them like in a DX7 alltough you only have four operators to work with.They're more like the DX100 .One feature that's nice though is that you can add effects to any of those sound like the others regular sounds.I found out that you can make real nice sounds by tweaking with the operators.Try to edit some of those sounds with the voice edit .Hope I was of some help See Ya!
