Now, I like this unit!

One big advantage over the Nord (and Hammond XK3c Pro System) is the addition of styles.

It has the Nord beat because it has real drawbars.

Should be interesting to see how much it costs...and what it weighs.

This I might be very interested in. Unfortunately, it's gonna weigh way more than I can handle. I just don't have the physical strength and stamina to cart or pick up anything over 50 lbs. Being an organist originally, this is it!

I use a VK-8 quite often, when we jam at another buddy's place (instead of the B-3 I usually use) and it's got a terrific sound and a very decent Leslie sim too.

If it weighs as much as the Nord (33 lbs), that would be acceptable.

The drawbars are so cool...another reason why I liked the XK1 so much....too bad it couldn't use the XK3c's "system".

Also...it (the AT350C) has presets between the manuals...perfect placement, in my opinion.

It all depends on what you prefer, drawbars or a hernia. I have the PK7a pedals and they weigh more than my C1 (by a pound). Who heads up Roland's keyboard design team, Arnold Schwarzenegger? Also, we don't know what it sounds like. I was interested in the VR-700 Combo (which also has drawbars) until I heard the organ voices. Lame. It looks like a nice instrument and I wouldn't kick it out of bed (so to speak) but if I needed a single instrument for full time gigging as AN ORGAN TRIO, I'd pick the C1, despite it's perceived shortcomings. If I were doing Pop and needed more instrumentation (voices), then I'd consider this unit. It's not a question of which is the better instrument, but of which one MEETS YOUR NEEDS (remember, Donny?).

Drawbars are really only good when you have a hand free enough to work them...playing with a group, they are easier to use, but as an arranger, the left hand may be too busy, either with bass accents (or lines) and/or chords.

I really like the presets between the keys...but, of course, Chas, you aren't as into arrangers as most of us here, so the styles section wouldn't be as vital either (except for, perhaps, the drums).

I'm curious to see if the Atelier can manage to be as light as the Nord C1, which appears to be about the lightest two-manual out there.

It also sounds pretty damn good, too.
