I was just wondering what the MS-40 is? Does it have arranger capabilities? Or is it just an SMF player / sound module? How are the sounds? Any place on the web where one might listen to a demo or two?

The MS 40 is the Solton version of my MS 60 without on-board speakers.

I've used mine at least 5 nights a week for over 12 years. the replacement I've chosen is the new SD-5...seems like an updated version.

Full metal box-balck (I like that best) and built like a tank. I believe there are still style disks available from Ketron. Check with AJ.

Great appranger...a little "long in the tooth", but I'll keep mine as a back-up when the new SD-5 arrives. Love the 13 note pedalboard for operation.

If you're anywhere near Kentucky, drive on by, and I'll show you mine. Drums and patterns arer GREAT...again, a little dated, but I'm using it every night.

There are some style disks available...AJ would know where. Also, I'm sure he could point you toward some samples. I'd buy an MS-40 in a second, but then again, I'd buy almost anything in a heartbeat.

Have you located one for sale? If so, and the price is under $1000.00, I'd look seriously at it. I bought a PSR 3000, but, in my mind, the MS-60 was far superior. Gave the 3000 to my granddaughter.

Thanks Russ... I live in Norway, so Kentucky is a bit too far Yes I was thinking of buying one... I saw an ad out on a used music forum. And I've heard so much great about the Ketron gear, but since it's usually really expensive, and none of the music stores around where I live carry them, It's hard to test out.

The guy is asking $800 for it.

So you seriously think this sounds better than a psr-3000? Even compared to the guitar megavoices?

OOPS...you're right, Fran. The MS 40 is the module version.

The MS 50 is the arranger keyboard without stereo amp and speakers, the MS 60, which I have, has the speakers. All three have the same "guts". I'd probably pay $800.00 for an MS 50...that's a little high for a 40.

There's lots of info on the MS series. Just Google...and, yes I do prefer my ancient MS 60 to the PSR 3000. To me, build quality was awful, sounds were unimaginative. But that's just me! My grandaughter loves it.

If you get the MS 40, I have a bunch of style disks you can copy.
