Yep I agree, this is why I was hoping for a second assignable pedal. I do own an EC5 pedal but find that sometimes placement is an issue, And a lot of the time, I only need a pedal for the harmoniser.

I also need space for my Bluetooth page turner for the long charts I use. Not many, but I still need it.

What I would say is you cannot have "Too Many" footswitch input jacks on a keyboard smile

I have a Ketron foot controller and a Roland foot controller, neither of which will work on Korg or Yamaha. Yamaha's is too big and heavy. If I really get interested enough in PAX3, maybe I can swap somebody.
I can get by with the 3 inputs on Tyros, but I really like about four or five. You need sustain, vocal harmony, break, and text page for sure. More than five, and my size 13 feet can't find them without looking.

Fran, if you are suffering pedal 'creep', can I suggest you stick a couple of the 'hook' parts of a 'Heavy Duty Velcro' (the kind where BOTH sides are hard plastic) strip on the underside of the FC-7... That's carpet taken care of.

Then, that plastic, semi-sticky 'shelf liner' material you can buy in rolls from any kitchen store to stop your utensils from rolling about or to hold plates from sliding, this stuff works VERY well on a variety of hard surfaces, from linoleum to tile to brick. You can either cut a piece to the same size as the FC-7, or carry a roll big enough to put under your entire key rig, then NOTHING creeps around much.

That all plastic Velcro has MANY uses, and if you prepare the surface before sticking it on (a little solvent or detergent to get rid of ALL dirt and grease) is capable of incredible strength, if needed. I used to be able to pick up a fairly heavy WS by the little drum machine velcroed to its top, back in the day. That stuff is amazing!

Oh, and for those with the 'wrong' footpedal, most of those are simple switches going to a multipin. You get a tech friend to replace the jack with the correct type for your new arranger, and get the pin assignments right, you can recycle your old pedalboard (fairly) easily....

Yep...and even better make a short crossover/patch cable that you can plug ito the existing pedal then to the new board...that way your not modifying it, then...when you change your mind again :-) you can still use it on the old brand you wish you hadn't sold :-)

Hi Jamman,
regrettably the lack of 4 fills wassn't the only drawback in converting Yamaha styles . For me the Yamaha drum mapping caused far more problems. Luv to see some XG mapped drum sets. And then there's the mega voices. Hopefuly 3rd party style writers, create some simplified styles.

[quote=jamman]Kog did their home work and apperently fixed their previous complaints.

The main reaons to get a PA 3x (for me are)

1. 4 fills plus break (all Yamaha style library will be converted by the Korg 3 rd party support /users - The main complaint from previous Yamaha has 4 fills and auto fill button and Korg did not. If this works, Korg may steal a lot of other brand users).Since Yamaha has alot of simple straight foward styles for Western music (not country). Converted Yamaha styles (Irish Acts website) suffered for above mentioned reasons. This issue will be solved with PA 3x.
