I'm sorry Maged,
but the prosound works only with the hardware installed! If you don't have the DREAM STARTER KIT with the audioboard in your pc, the prosound don't start...

I have the source code in VisualBasic 3 of an old version of prosound; the problem is in the work-area memory for the samples: the software need the memory of the dream audioboard, but i try to force it to use the system ram.
In this mode i can make a soundbank with my personal samples, but if i haven't the software for make the floppy disk's files i can't load them in the ram or flashcard of X1.

AJ, please send me this software!!!

Edeardo,

Did you read my post above about my goals of using the software?

Are you saying that the software you have will not enable me to shuflle those SND files?

Really the software I am looking for is one that would extract the 'wav' files out of the SND files, and this way we can mix and match samples once extracted, then use the software to put them back into SND files.

It would be great, because for example we can make 8MB SND sets. One with only sounds and the other one with the drum kits we want and some extra sounds. We can load the one sounds set onto the flash card, and the other set into RAM...That will give us our 16MB kit, but we will still have 8MB avaialble to load external samples.

AJ HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP Please.

Edeoardo can you explain more about what you have exactly and where can we buy it and how does it work , what does it do? Thanks

Hi Edoardo

Thanks for the explanation, but as Mosiqaar said, have you tried using this software just to shuffle SND files without creating new ones? It could be possible to use this older visual basic code to do this simple function without having the hardware installed.

Maged

You have to be aware of Ketron's and AJ's representative position. If the software is not suitable for public use as it is then it is not a sound business move for Ketron to make it publicly available. I have met AJ on a number of occasions and know him to be a straight up guy so if he says the software is not available for public release then that is simply how it is. No browbeating is gonna change that. You are lucky to be able to get the official word on the subject here on the BBS. I do understand you want improved control of your setup but you can't force the situation. Either Ketron end up meeting your expectations or you have to consider all available options. But there isn't a UI on any keyboard available that satisfies all users 100%. You just need to weigh the features with the disadvantages when you buy a keyboard. If the system can be upgraded at all later then that is just a bonus.

Now third party software is your own decision to use. Often this is the only software that many keyboards ever see. If it gets good reports from other users then it is well worth trying.

Nigel i don't debate anything you said, but my request to AJ is based on the fact that he works for Ketron and hopefully he can forward our requests up the chain and maybe Ketron will make the sw avaialble for public use.

Mosiqaar,

Nigel is correct. The software that we use (internally only) cannot really by released to the public for now for it will need a lot of GUI work for better understanding and user friendliness. We would get a lot more complains on this than we can handle. At the moment, most of the wiring is hard-wire i.e. to hardware!! So you see, it won't be practical to do this. Trust me on this ... my basement is more like a spidder's web now with modules of all sorts ... including MIDIJAY!

Thanks

AJ

Nigel,
We see that you don't have our Ketron Keyboard
I understand your post...

In facts, we don't really need hardware things to make a file, just software.
And if ketron wants, I can make for them FOR FREE !!!!!!!! all softwares they want, with very good user friendly!! Im computer engeener... and this is my dream to work for synth companies (I love my SD1 too !!!)
If they don't want to support any softwares issues, or problems, they can just leave others make the tools the musicians needs...

But I understand the position of Ketron...
Why to move the little finger, if this don't make us more money?...

Ketron contact me please, you never regret it

Thanks to Aj for his help... It's better to have a negative answers, than no answers at all.

PS: I just trade one of my 2 SD1 for a GEM Genesys Pro... you know this keyboard?... my impressions soon

Dan

AJ I trust you, and I perfectly understand you...thats why I asked you to add me to your msn or what ever else u might have so we can chat in private.

Hell if u have what I need in your basement, I will come visit you for a weekend do what I want and go the hell home and never to bother you for a while at least

No really....I understand what you mean about complaints and not user friendly, but like DAN said, I think all of us who are asking for such tools are technical enough to be able to use the least user friendly softwares out there.

As Dan said he is an engineer....so am I, and so are many others who are willing to put up with no user friendliness.

If the issue is that, then I am willing to sign a paper saying I understand this program is not user friendly and don't expect ketron to help me with it.

If all my ideas are not acceptable...please talk to me in private as I would like to ask you something.

Thanks
