I do have the Ketron vega and it was purchesed from Maqam.com. This is keyboard has some problems in the OS.
1. I have the Low mute when the keyboard is turned on which is fine. Now whenever I go to pattern mode 70% of the time the low mute enables itself. However, the low mute still selected which means the Low voice should not sound.
2. The Drawbars sounds have noise. Specillay on the high area of the keys.
3. The Drum2 and preset # 50 has noise before the end of sample on B5 or B5 flat.
4. Many samples when I play them do have some noise. Not sure why? To my ears they do have noise. Specially when using the chorus effect.....
5. The screen sometimes will not show all the functions when Recording patterns. I have to turn off the Ketron inorder to see the screen.
6. When I play styles from X1 or Sd1 some of the sounds are not there. This is due to the fact that the Vega/xd9 doesn't have the same samples. I do hope that VOC to be added to the Keron Vega/Xd9 which is in the FX section. Specillay the Gipsy style from the X1/sd1 it has the unique sound of a spanish woman.
7. Fix the problem with the registration autoswitch which is supposed to turn off after you have selected a registration in the on mode. Now it just causes the bank button light to toggle.
8. Fix problem with volume control when using the music volume control setting from MIC menu. This intermittently goes off and if you have turned the manual volume switch up, the voice all of sudden gets really loud. I have it set on 34 to get the MIC volume up relative to the sounds played by the VEGA
I am sure that Ketron will try fix these problems the moment the Tech people are able to rproduce these above OS issues.
Here are some suggested (from Ketron Vega/Xd9 Users) OS features that will make the Ketron/xd9 more professional for recording and other usage:
A. Adding the Master Effects on the Vega/xd9.Very important!
B. Fix the EQ on the Arabic Samples and Kits that are currenlty in the Vega. They do need High EQ adjustment. Very Important!
C. Add some missing voices like FX VOC from X1 and Sd1. Specially the Spanish woman voices!
1. Save user voices one at a time like program.
2. Same for drum kit.
3. Make the one-touch more usable

5. Display registration names on a menu
6. Save the Patterns in the order they are stored in RAM. Now if you zap your patterns, unless you put them back in the same slot as before, all your registrations are worthless.
7. For those using 2nd voice settings, be able to save it on disk.
8. Make the song record function a one button process, maybe by making another button multi function through the menu.
9. Be able to select all patterns with pushbuttons (like hitting value +/- together) on the Edit Pattern menu, rather than selecting them one at a time.
10. Add aftertouch.
11. Record a pattern from a midi file played on vega
12.Allow vocalizer setting to stay on when changing registrations

14. Be able to select the Arabic scale user settings (13 total) witout a footswitch.
15. Be able to see the notes of the recorded pattern to make it easy to select and delete one note.
16 Allow us to load samples from other manufactures and/or Ketron Products such as X1 and Sd1.
