Three songs tonight by two incredible performers. From my perspective this season has been the best ever. I picked Scotty from the beginning as a top contender, and as a finalist. Lauren constantly improved throughout the competition, and leaped forward to the final two last week. Her performances tonight were stunning.

I'm still betting that Scotty will pull it off tomorrow night, but this one is just too close to call. Ironically, both are country singers, both are the youngest finalists ever, and I sincerely believe they are the most talented I've seen since the show began.

I totally agree Gary. Scotty has one of those voices that you only hear in 1 in 10,000 people. He's only 17; imagine if his voice get's deeper as he matures?

He also has quite a bit of poise for a young person. It's been a very enjoyable season.

Scotty. Lauren is too naive right now to let herself go as a performer needs to onstage. They will both do well with intoductory albums...

My feelings as well, Cass. Should be an interesting evening.

SCOTTY WINS IDOL 2011 !!!

He was the person I picked from the onset, I knew he was a winner, and that pretty much says what a lot of us have been saying about Country Music--it rules!

I strongly suspect that Scotty will be touring the nation with Lauren during the ensuring years. Both are fantastic entertainers.

Totally agree Gary ... Scotty and Lauren seem to have a special bond and he said as much tonight ... I wish them all success ...

Steven was a hoot. Jennifer was beautiful and sensitive...even Randy was entertaining.

Lots of talent, too. Different strokes, I guess. I turned the TV off when it got down to the two country kids.

I was curious to see how far the country vote would take Scotty and Lauren. Gary you were on target the whole time.

I think that the 2 finalist were pushed by their peers. That age group is all about social media & the internet is their life.

My 17 yr old son and 19 yr old are constantly connected.

Only saw part of the show but it was great to see Lauren sing with Carrie ...
