I'm not a huge wrestling fan, but I remember "Macho Man" Randy Savage

He died in a car accident May 20, 2011...only 58 years old.

Randy lived in Lexington for awhile before he hit it big in the WWE, and "Miss Elizabeth", his wife, took classes from me at UK.

His daddy, Angelo Poffo, ran a wrestling operation out of Lexington. I remember operating a camera for them for their world championship match....held at the local Henry Clay high school-300 in attendance(LOL)!

Interesting folks!

Wow...Very Interesting Russ.

Macho Man was one of a kind, They say the movie 'The Wrestler' was loosly based after him.

And did you know he played 4 years of minor league baseball after being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals?

Yes! Randy and a bunch of the other wrestlers in the Poffo group lived in the same apartment complex as an artist friend of mine.

They hung out at the pool, "fired" on Dave's girlfriend and the other girls and talked about the wrestling business. This would have been in the late 70's.
