I used the mediaStation for 2 months...two different stage venues....Zero problems...A week ago Saturday...at a new venue..after setting up on stage, I tried to boot up the MS..oh NO!!!!..Won't boot up, asked to enter a command to resolve hard drive issue ( this was a recently installed 1 terrabyte HD) ...but I don't have a QWERTY key pad with me..(Who carries one to gigs?)..I had to make some calls..I am 120 miles from home..I didn't have a laptop with me, so no backup for emergency..After spending 15 minutes on the phone, trying to explain to a band member what I needed him to bring to the gig (computer illiterate)..

After I had the right tool, I was up and running in 30 seconds...Since then I rebooted the MS a dozen times without incident...but this past week, I am back to using the G70 and my laptop smile

Without a doubt, this is my best all around system to use...I have a tablet ready to use with the G70, but the laptop is more human error proof than the tablet's touch screen (once in a while the wrong touch will start a new song while I only wanted to scroll and search grin ).

I did have the Prelude on the gig, but JoAnn didn't want to give it up to me...she likes to play the Prelude too.. cool

Hi Fran.

There's nothing wrong with the reliability factor. If you had of had a PS2 keyboard with you, it would have been no problem at all. Something obviously happened when the keyboard was being shut down. Maybe someone pulled the plug too soon.

Either way, your obviously running on an old OS. This cannot happen under ver 5.0. You never need to have a PS2 Keyboard with you any more, and the shut down times are just a few seconds now.

Regards
James

Hi James, I am running OS5 rev2174..I needed to add a new HD , because my old HD would not partition and save the old data..

The MS came up with a command of skip, or correct error or ignore..on HD via keypad enter( after a few weeks of use)...but naturally , I could not without external hardware (Keypad)..

I have never seen this before.

I have also a problem ..no B4 since I installed rev2174...any suggestions..(email me please)..

Does the new OS use your new wavetable as default (left player) now instead of Dream chip?
