Is this Pa3x Tc Helicon VH unit the same as the one in the PA2x or a newer updated model?

I like it! Sounds terrific.

I think the "virtual engineer" is very clever, automatically changing the settings to suit the singer's voice.

It does sound better.

I don't sing much either, Frans, but I use the Tyros4's vocal input for running other keyboards through...in my case a Yamaha CS-01 mono synth.

I use the harmony to make the mono synth sound like a polyphonic, plus effects etc.

The Korg could work the same way.

Well nowadays with all the electronic help, you don't necessarily need to know HOW to sing, just let the harmonizer do it's thing. So Frans...give it a go, everyone else is.

Oh, but if you've got a lousy singer going in, you've got three or four lousy singers coming out. The basics HAVE to be there. There's no getting away from that.

Yes, to a degree. But, you know, some folks should never be in the same room as a mic.

Really? I know a few bad singers where a harmonizer and pitch corrector made them sound ...well... half decent anyway.

Sometimes being a "perfect" singer isn't required...take Neil Young for example.

When someone told him he was singing off key, he replied "That's my sound, man!"

I have great time with the Tyros4's new VH-2 Harmonizer (it's awesome)...using it as a vocoder for those cool robotic voices is a real hoot, and only one of the many neat things you can do with it.

I'm sure the Korg's harmonizer allows you to do the same things.

Thanks for the tip Ian. Didn't know that was possible. I still have a lot to learn smile
