Mark, the answer to the second question is "Yes"; as per the first question, it all depends on how you will be able to organize your setup. Keep in mind that some modules, like the Ketrons, have a dedicated pedalboard to trigger fills, change variations, etc. and most master keyboards have a memory where you can store bank and program changes numbers to send to your modules.
My suggestion would be to buy a master keyboard that has at least four different zones (eight would be perfect), which means that you can play up to four (or eight) different modules at the same time, each with its own settings.
