What module are we talking about here? Is Ketron coming out with a new MODULE version of one of its arrangers?

I've been thinking of buying a Ketron module and MIDI-ing to an 88 note controller keyboard. Can anyone tell me if they don't think it's practical and for what reasons? Also....would I be able to access all 88 piano notes with the controller?

Reasons for it:

1) I can pick the keyboard of my choice where I'm comfortable with the touch and the controls layout.

2) I can have a dedicated piano module and other sound modules including Vocoder.

3)I can use other instruments as controllers.

Reasons against it:

1) It will be back and forth with my hands to change styles, hit fills, change settings while I'm playing.

2) more equipment to set up

3) I'll be "buried" behind equipment on stage

Mark, the answer to the second question is "Yes"; as per the first question, it all depends on how you will be able to organize your setup. Keep in mind that some modules, like the Ketrons, have a dedicated pedalboard to trigger fills, change variations, etc. and most master keyboards have a memory where you can store bank and program changes numbers to send to your modules.
My suggestion would be to buy a master keyboard that has at least four different zones (eight would be perfect), which means that you can play up to four (or eight) different modules at the same time, each with its own settings.

Thanks "dreamer"...I didn't know Ketron module fills and variations can be controlled by a dedicated foot pedal. And I'm then assuming that the controller keyboard can store the locations of the dance style programs and can send a MIDI signal to change styles also.

Is there any need at all then to work the controls directly on the module or can I do everything from the controller (can I set the module off to the side where I can still view it but it doesn't need to be in front of me)?

That's a nice version you did of Europa and And I Love Her . You've got a nice feel for the music. Is that a Ketron playing the guitar sounds? I also liked your philosphy ("explore different aspects").

yes, depending on how sophisticated is the controller you choose you can do everything from there and place the module aside or behind the keyboard, using a dedicated stand. Actually this is much more practical than wasting a lot of money on duplicated keyboards (or keybeds).
