I'm just curious as to why Yamaha still does this with their PSR line. I've been having a great time jamming on my PSR S-700. Of course as many of you know I'm not just into traditional styles.., but I also like writing modern styles as well.
My question: Why does Yamaha still use "tweaked" versions of the preset drum kits to strengthen up the modern styles? These tweaked kits aren't available from the preset drum kit list.., but can only be used in the style creator (and you must use a style that has a tweaked kit to get access to it).
If Yamaha feels these kits need tweaks to sound more up to date. Why don't they just put these tweaks together into ONE kit and make it available from the preset drum kit list? This would work so much better because these slightly edited kits sound pretty good, and it would be great to have them to "re-voice" other styles with.
I know some Yamaha users aren't even aware of this issue too. If you've not noticed it.., go through some of the modern styles and take note of the drum tracks. You'll hear snare, hi hat, bass drum, samples that sound different from the actual preset kit used for the style.
