Currently I do my gigs with an SD1 and a midi accordion. As I mostly play with the accordion I am thinking of buying an XD3 or Midjay in order to have an easier transport to my gigs.

Which of the two expanders would you recommend more in conjunction with the midi accordion? I know that the XD3 cannot play wav + mp3, so the advantage of combined SMFs and wav/mp3 is missing. Are there other pros and cons? (I am very happy wih the SD1's styles and sounds, except when playing a bass manually with the accordion it does not sound the same way as the same bass in a style)

I would appreciate a few pros and cons.

hrh999,

If you do not care about Wave, MP3, DJ-Loops and Effects being added to your performance, don't care about not being able to create styles from scratch, don't care about not having an extensive Editor and are strictly a musician, then the XD3 is for you.

Midijay is designed around the Player first and then the performer. Also, with most of the functions geared towards handling and manipulating Audio files, the Midijay really opens up a new world to those performers who have been using strictly MIDI for a while. Now the options seem endless and with the ability to synchronize Wave, Loops and Grooves to styles, it doen't get better - after all, isn't the goal to sound just like the REAL THING (and not close to)?

Thanks,

AJ
