A youtube clip to accompany a song I recorded with a synth pop band "The Name" in Australia in the early 80s "Girls Can Swing". The keyboards used were Roland Juno 6 and Casiotone.

And the guitar used was a Fender Jazzmaster. Frank the guitar player really was technically very precise ... a great musician. I played a Fender Precision bass.

Pulled one of my old Jazzmasters out the other day. Sliders at the top didn't work. Bridge is awful-when you use the tremolo bar, forget about tuning.

GREAT OLD GUITAR!

Fender just started selling four new models in a series: A Jazzmaster, a Strat, a Tele and a Jaguar: all Mexican, i believe, at $449.00. The Jazzmaster is missing the sliders, which never worked anyway.

Pretty cool "beaters".

EVERY BASS PLAYER NEEDS A PRECISION!

I forgot to mention that all the songs this band played were original compostions. No covers at all. We thought we could make it .... lol wink I have been putting the clips I have started making for our songs on http://girlscanswing.com ... just for the sake of music history.

Although it took a while Fender have totally addressed the low cost market. The Mexican made guitars are great value. And even the Fender Squier range are incredible value. I would readily suggest a $160 ( or even less ) Fender Squier to a beginner guitar player ... and I myself could play a live gig using a cheap Fender Squier without a problem knowing no-one would even guess I was using a budget priced guitar. They are built great and play great ... I have a couple of friends that have bought Squiers and done nothing more than upgrade the electronics to get an awesome pro level guitar for very low cost. Fender have really nailed that budget market now.
