Hi Scott,
I have EMC. I also have the early PA800 ( pre guitar mode )styles which may convert a bit better than the later guitar mode styles.
I'm happy to run some thru for you , just to try them, but they'd be unedited. If I edit I'd have to save as pa800 or pa3x haa haa, defeats the purpose.
Style from a midifile really wouldn't work for you, as you'd need someone to export a PA800 style as midifile for you. In short, you need a pa800 to get it into midifile format.
Unlike a Yamaha style where all you need to do is change the .sty or .prs extension to .mid ( which automatically turns it into a midifile,) there's no other keyboard style that you can do that with.
I beleive there is some sort of korg software available for download that converts a midifile into a style but I've never tried it, because both the pa800 & pa3x are capable of importing/exporting a complete style as a midifile.
The early pa800 operating system, allowed individual style tracks ( cv's) to be imported as a midifile, but it was a very convuluted way of doing things. It's possible the micro arranger is capable of doing this too, I'd have to check.
Only reason I'd really do it, would be maybe for an intro or ending, where EMC has removed multiple tempo changes, like a slow down in an ending.
So, let me know if you want me to run some thru just to try & what genre of style.
Some may work ok, some may need too much editing.
