Ultimate Support Discontinues APEX AX-90 and Accessories

Ultimate Support, the world’s leading innovator of industry standard stands for musicians and sound engineers, has discontinued the APEX AX-90 and all associated accessories effective immediately.

The APEX AX-90 was designed as an updated design to the venerable APEX column keyboard stand. Shipping in 2009, the AX-90 was originally available in six colors and used by many contemporary musicians and seen on several national and international tours.

“Unfortunately, we had to discontinue the AX-90 in its current design,” said Mike Belitz, Ultimate Support CEO. “I know the multiple colors and overall ‘wow factor’ on stage were a real hit among serious keyboard players. For the near future the AX-90 will remain discontinued. However, we may choose to go back to the drawing board for a redesign and (hopeful) future releases.”

I saw that....I guess my RED one will be a collectors item as very few of the RED ones were produced. I love mine and have had no issues.

What was it the size/weight price issue?..or?

I have a Silver one that belonged to HankB. It's in new condition. It is extremely stable and easy to set up, but a little heavy for daily setups. Has a nice bag too.

Is there a MIC BOOM attachment on this KB stand?

I don't see one listed. The AX48 does. I have one of those too.

I have had my Apex for way over twenty years, and thought of getting the "90" for the WOW factor, but couldn't justify the added weight and price tag.

I don't know why the company discontinued; perhaps price? I paid $299 which I thought was fair. I play with two keyboards on mine and it's rock steady. People think twice about bumping into it with that nice large column in the middle.

It does not nor will it ever have a boom mic stand attachment. I just use a regular boom mike and it work out fine. That's where I mount my iPad.

That issue alone is a deal killer for me....

The K&M pro has one & so does the My Apex 48....wouldn't want to carry an extra boom....lack of sales could of been a big problem also.
