Is anyone else using a touchscreen monitor with their DAW/Music PC?

I am currently using : Planar PXL2430MW
http://www.planar.com/reseller/20inch-plus-lcds/pxl2430mw/#t-0

24" and full HD, just perfect for controlling my software sequencer and VST's directly behind my keyboard.

Bachus,

Are you reading music via the screen, tell us more about it if you can.

Multi touch and capacitive it is.

I am using it to controll Ableton live mostly, and sometimeslive-Styler when i want to try something with a style. Most of my software user interface is set up on the screen. For instance when i use alchemy i have 2 x-y touchpads on the screen that allow you to controll a lot of parameters.

It is also usable to read PDF and Epub sheet music, much like on my ipad, sweeping that part of the screen to move to the next page.. But mostly i use my ipad for this. sometimes i use the score feature of Cubase.

Hi Bachus,
I went to one of the major electronic retailers here in Aust. asking about a touch screen after Dan had mentioned it.
I was told I could only get a touch screen as a pc?go figure.

LOL yeah you would think they know better, and in fact they do wink

This is why I don't recommend anyone deal with these guys.Too full of BS in upselling, and in my experience they will say anything to get a sale.

Or the other side of the coin is they are so woefully inadequate in having anything other than cursory knowledge about the product they are selling, as they are truly clueless..

Sadly the biggest percentage of their customers believe them....

Same with TV salesmen....

Hi Dennis,
I think it might be the latter.
We went in to buy a Gel speaker for my ipod, they'd according to hubby, been advertising them.
We got there, salesman didn't have a clue what we were talking about.
We hunted around ourselves, & found half a dozen of them sitting on the shelf.
Excuse was, he'd had the day off yesterday, that's when they must have arrived.
