How compares the Prelude and GW-8 to the BK-7m in sound?

I was the owner of a G-800 in 1998 and since then, never had the chance to play a Roland arranger...
By the way, what do you think about the new BK-5??

OK , Now hold on !

It`s not that bad.

I have enjoyed many hours playing my Prelude , and I trust I will continue to do so.

Sure , it doesn`t have the great styles that Yamaha has or the great sounds that Yammy has.

BUT , it does possess build quality that allows you to play.

The action is good , for a 1K A-KB , and it has some of the best organ and synth sounds on any arranger , including Yamaha , IMHO.

So , chip away at the lonesome Prelude if you must , just realize what you are truly missing !

The Prelude is one of the best all around entertaining keyboards on the market..In fact the demand for them is so high..they have been selling near list price for several months...


If you were not demoing a version2 model..you would not know the advantages of the Prelude....You will not find a keyboard under $1,500 or higher with the editing capabilities the Prelude does....

As for stage use, it has the best media player in arranger keyboards..Much better player than you will find on a Korg PA800, Korg PA2x or Tyros4....It simply works best, easier to play, select while search and a single button plays....wav, Mp3, SMF ..all from the same playlist/folder...

The sounds are good to excellent...EP's, piano, organs are better than the competition...same with bass and synth sounds....It will play G70 styles too..As I always say "a style is a style"...just load your own...100 user styles can reside internally, as well as 200 SMF's with lyrics and chords....

If you are just an arranger player, it may crunch your style, at least the way you are use to playing...but the Prelude is as good as anything you are playing....For band use, it is near perfect..Light quick set up that does it all..

My old band is still using it..it has been a great asset....
