I am having a problem with my midi record. Sounds come through on record and play correctly as they are coming in, but they do not get recorded. AJ is aware of this on my keyboard; he thinks it might be a connection issue on the sound board.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Style works available? If I could edit a midifile and save it as .pat, that would kind of solve my problem.

Why not try opening it up and reseating all connectors first?

If that seems a daunting task, try finding a keyboard or electroics tech to do it for you.

Actually, AJ suggested that too. I think I'll give it a shot. Do you think I should slightly bend the pins? AJ??
Also, is the sound board the one with the output jacks?

i would never bend pins. Just unseat or disconnect each connector found, carefully, then just as carefully reconnect it.

Can't help you as to board ID, having not been inside one, but often you can find the amplifier output jacks and trace their wiring back to the board that must be the amplifier.

That's what I assumed. I was on that board recently; I replace output no. 3 (it was cracked). It was a real pain since it has 9 pins. However, if that is the one, I already removed all the connectors since I took it out to work with it, but it didn't solve the problem.

Although I have not solved the issue yet with midi record, I did discover that I could download EMC style works demo version for free. In the demo, only arranger "A" gets saved. However, that is enough to pop it into the SD1 and copy it to a different part (I tried this already). It takes a little longer to do, but I don't have to shell out $250 for their software.
