Nice playing bass over a SMF is unique...I would assume he made the backing track on the prelude also?

Nope, all live play...He used the sustain pedal to hold the keys parts when playing a chord, when he needed to use the bender for his bass playing... but then when he could just use one hand for the bass part he played the keys parts normally

The best I can say it was just awful! Hard to explain, but the musicality and soul is just not there. The sounds are dreadful and the arrangements are simple. You can have the gimmicks. I'd price it at $500 best.

Hell Zuki,

Well said and every word, there must be nothing wrong with your ears. woot

I cannot agree at all with your estimation on price, you put one zero too many, 50 bucks and I would be pushing it at that.

The Prelude is one of the best all around entertaining keyboards on the market..In fact the demand for them is so high..they have been selling near list price for several months... smile

If you were not demoing a version2 model..you would not know the advantages of the Prelude....You will not find a keyboard under $1,500 or higher with the editing capabilities the Prelude does....

As for stage use, it has the best media player in arranger keyboards..Much better player than you will find on a Korg PA800, Korg PA2x or Tyros4....It simply works best, easier to play, select while search and a single button plays....wav, Mp3, SMF ..all from the same playlist/folder...

The sounds are good to excellent...EP's, piano, organs are better than the competition...same with bass and synth sounds....It will play G70 styles too..As I always say "a style is a style"...just load your own...100 user styles can reside internally, as well as 200 SMF's with lyrics and chords....

If you are just an arranger player, it may crunch your style, at least the way you are use to playing...but the Prelude is as good as anything you are playing....For band use, it is near perfect..Light quick set up that does it all..

My old band is still using it..it has been a great asset....

I will trade for a Prelude,, anyone want a Micro? smile

I respect Frans review as always... as I know on stage he made the Prelude sound terrific in the clubs, great features at "this price point"..... I also enjoyed playing it in his studio also.

I'd say the styles and sounds are a tad bland, but at least it has a midi sequencer, unlike the BK-5.

And, it is well made, although the keys weren't the nicest I've played.
