I'm looking to purchase a 32Gb microSD card for my new Tascam DR-07MKii portable digital recorder.

This link gives (a current?) list of the MicroSD cards supposedly tested to work with the DR-07MKii.
Unfortunately, only two are 32Gb size: one from SanDisk & the other from Toshiba.

Which 'brand' and 'model' (including capacity size) microSD Card(s)
are other people here succesfully using with their Tascam DR-07MKII, or similar Tascam portable digi recorders?

Thanks in advance, Scott cool

Scott,

Donny indicates that we wasted our time & money buying the Tascam and that Mixcraft 5 is much better, and to boot he did the KMA demos using this cutting edge technology, I have never seen this before. Can you take your Tascam back to the shop, I have found out if I don't like it, I can send it back. So don't waste your hard earned cash on a memory card just yet. But as you know I need my recorder to be portable for meetings and I am buying mine on the business.

Yes, I've got 30 days to return mine too, but my advice:

Use the portable digi recorder for convenient quick & simple recording outside the studio.
At home (in the studio), use Mixcraft (or other DAW software). Problem solved. smile

Scott, why do you need one that big? It's simple as can be to upload any recordings to a computer. Interested in knowing your reason for spending on a 32GB.

Sandisk have always worked well for me, but just about everything I've tried works as well.

Tony....for portability you can load MIXCRAFT 5 on your laptop or notebook, use the Lt camera Mic or one of your own..and take it with you anywhere to record it can multitrack record as many as you need unlimited. Included are great effects & Vsts also....very good support and instructional video Tutorials Pt1,2,3,4, etc.. on you tube also..

Hi Bill,
I was thinking in terms of capturing a 2-3 hour long live music concert in 24bit/96kHz WAV format.
How many stereo record-able hours and/or minutes (@ 24bit/96kHz WAV) will a: 4Gb; 8Gb; 16Gb; and 32Gb microSD card provide?

Might as well get the big card. It takes a few seconds longer to boot, but you don't have to upload to PC nearly as often. I almost always record in WAV format, but it's really only necessary if you think you might want to burn a CD later.

Scott, I won't do the exact math but a 2GB card will hold about 400 mp3 songs at 4MB each. A wav is maybe ten times more dense. So, say, 40 songs for a 2GB card recording WAV. I would think that most people don't record stuff like that at 24, they record at 16, but probably no harm to record at 16. A 32GB card may be vast overkill, but maybe there are other reasons.

They both have their position in the recording world....The Tascam DR07 is a great field recorder or stage recorder from the mixer...In the studio MixCraft5 is a great software for multi track recording and editing as well as mastering...You can not go wrong , owning both.....as I do smile
