As follows"

Hi, well after much research and countless hours of testing plugging and unplugging devices, I think I have finally worked out what is wrong with Audya when it freezes. It runs out of poliphany! Thats it. Sustain pedal in, Freeze, sustain pedal out, no freeze!.. Now what to do next. I need someone from Ketron or close to them, to tell me why the program OS goes into stack overflow which causes the freeze and enevitable switch off to restart. Is there a missing file? or is it a corrupted file? or does this require a new update to fix so that I can continue to use the pedal, or is it the pedal that is the problem?

Thanks so much for any help, I really do love the Audya and looks like its back in my better book now.

I'm glad you are on track to finding the problem.
Using the sustain pedal did not cause my Audya to freeze. In fact nothing did. However, I only used it on one voice, or occasionally a layer of two voices, at a time. I'm certain my style of playing would never approach using up the available polyphony, even using sustain.
I also never used the midi connection function. Couldn't think of a reason to. Maybe my simpler needs were a reason that I didn't have problems.
Anyway, best wishes with this wonderful instrument.

Robbo,

You might be right , you may not be right, I never used a pedal and mine froze up, Audya is an enigma rolled up in an enigma and even if you did find something wrong getting the factory to listen to you well you’ll see, you will grow very old waiting. There are various problems that people have got, not certain they are software or hardware, the problem is getting Ketron to listen, TWD will no doubt pick it up from the UK, Robbo please don’t hold your breath., move on Robbo, I am. BTW there are people who have not had any problems.

Tony

That's great you have a repeat for it Robbo. AJ will most probably report it to Ketron and that will give them a big clue to what the bug is. Even though Tony had the freeze without the pedal it still may well be polyphony related.

Even if users don't get a response from Ketron I am sure they are keen to clear up the bad publicity these problems are getting. If you go to Google and search for "Ketron Audya problem" ... this forum comes up at the top of the list. I'm sure they would prefer to clear that up.

Nigel,

I hope they do get to the bottom of these problems, Skude's still gots his, getting it fixed is another thing, hope AJ can kick Ketron into doing something, they always appear to know better or as Robbo knows do nothing.

Regards

Tony

As your double posting here goes:

Robbo, honestly, this is not a Ketron support forum and whilst its fine to air your grievances, if you have a problem you realy do need to put the effort into chasing your distributor, after all they took your money to support you.

I know for a fact that if we have a problem similar yours at Ketron UK (and in all honestly it does happen from time to time) Ketron Italy work with us to resolve the problem. We can talk to them by phone and email. Some issues take a little longer if they are more challenging, but we have always been able to work them out.

I don't know about your particular problem (first I have heard of it) - but the factory do need to know so they can help, so please do contact your distributor.

Send your serial number and the checksum and alltabs test results as the factory are only going to ask for that information anyway.

just to add.

Our demo Audya does not lock up even with 5 voices on the right plus left voice, full arranger running and playing fistfulls of notes with sustain.

TWD,

Is right Robbo and if you were in the UK you would get it fixed, he would fix it, if your dealer can't put it right then it should go back to Italy and ketron need to look at their dealerships they are just taking your money and moving boxes. I did tell you an enigma in an enigma you see TWD does not have the same problem with all the stops pulled out. You have only found one piece of gold Robbo now go find some more, the first bit was fools gold ( only kidding) I know what the pain is like with the Audya I had a dose. When you were a lad. rotf2

Hope you do get it fixed ?????

I just have this funny feeling about this and it will not go your way!!

Do you know how far Italy is from you.

Best wishes

Tony

I for one am glad he posted this problem and possible fix on the General Arranger Forum. I'm sure most of us non Audya owners do not visit Keytron Forums, so this is a good location for those thinking of a possible purchase.

It certainly has given me second thoughts...

I'm glad to see this stuff out in the open as well...some time ago, I passed on the link to this forum to several of the dealers I visit, as well as some salespeople and even a few clients...they peek in on Synth Zone General Arranger Forum (and also the brand specific ones) fairly frequently.
