It's been a really warm winter here....right now it's 82 degrees, sunny, no humidity, grass is green. life is good!

Tony Yankee, Rays camp is only 20 minutes away and Tigers Camp is only 15 minutes away. C'mon down and enjoy the sunshine!!!!

I hope you heal fast, Tony...it's good they were able to do corrective surgery.

Winter here is always at it's worst in the latter part of January and most of February. It was -33 C (-27 F) on Monday past...brutal!

If your not into winter sports, it means spending a lot of time indoors, but that has it's benefits, as you get lots of time to practice and work on styles and arrangements.

I guess that's also why there is a high percentage of musicians (a very high number are pros) here on the island.

It's also nice to have actual four distinct seasons...weather is never boring, and often a perfect conversation starter.

Good luck with your toe...and keep playing!

Ian

Ian ... thank you for the well wishes ...
While I LOVE the change of seasons, especially here in New England, I find that as I get older I have less and less need for snow - although I found out recently that my lingering morning allergy attacks are due to the fact that winter has been TOO mild and the fall allergens have not died off - ...
The first week after surgery was pretty much 'couch potato' week as I had to stay with the foot elevated to avoid swelling ... I am now in a 'walking boot' so I will be able to sit at the kb for at least a little while each day grin ... I knew since October that I was going to have the surgery at this time and how long it would keep me from getting around, so I did not take any gigs ...
thanks,

The older I get the colder I get. I can't wait till the end of March when I can put the finishing touches on the boat and in mid April it will be back in the water. The winter of 2012, if my health doesn't go to Hell in a hand-basket, will be spent someplace where the temperature and my age are equal. If it gets too cold in Marathon Key, Florida, I'll head for Key West. If it gets cold there, the next stop is the Dry Tortugas. In the unlikely event the Torgugas get cold, the Bahamas are just two days sailing time to the east. I can't afford to run a marine satellite internet connection, but most of the marinas have Wi-Fi so I'll be able to keep in touch.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Tony,

I agree, it's been a weird season, mild temperatures, no snow, and the Giants win. Just a freaky type winter for sure. smile

Hope you recover quickly
