After not really being able to afford any new "toys" for quite a while now, I ended up getting a large sum of money back on tuition from a student loan situation and have paid off a bunch of bills and have a well cushioned savings as a I start my master's degree.... was thinking I'd like to get a little something for my self... ended up getting the MS at Guitar Center for $400... not too bad... been a lot of fun.....

Thank you for allowing the little update. I'll be playing in the pit for the college's production of "Children of Eden" so needed a board with plenty of sounds and flexibility to cover multiple parts.

I almost bought one to go with my KMA, but opted for the PS60 because it is performance oriented, and most of the set up is done with the former.

I am amazed at how deep you can go with both the KMA and Microstation. It should do you well.

As an aside, I disabled the insert effects on some PS60 organ programs, and ran them through my Ventilator. VOILA ! You talk about a light rig with a big sound.

Bernie,

I've often wondered how the organs on any arranger would sound through a great simulator like the ventilator. Pretty good huh? I've felt that the Ventilator was the best Leslie sim out there. Could you post a recording of organs through the Ventilator? Will there ever be a time where you go all software with the Varranger?

Tom

Bernie,

I was just thinking, this had to come from the States, a while ago I walked into McDonalds and order a Big Mac Meal, the girl said " do you wanny go big on that big mac, mac " I said yes, what the hell you only live once...you know what I mean. Rather surprised, you walk into a music store look at a KB and the assistant say " do you wanny go small on that Mac" and the World turns, must be something to do with austerity, never every thought that anything in the States would go small.... rotf2

SZ a laugh a minute.

Regards Bernie.

Tom

I have tried all kinds of boards through the Vent with varying degrees of success.

First, I have never found an instance where there was no improvement, providing you can isolate the pure wavforms.
You do not want any mod effects in the sample. The quality varies from board to board, so that you get an accurate sim of varying quality.

Second is, ideally, having a separate aux out for the organ. The G70, for example, has good organ tones but you can't send them out separately. The KN7000 has fairly good sound and separate outs. The Korg is new to me, but have separated the organ with good results. The best is the Audya, which has good preset organ patches but lousy drawbar sim(IMHO). I use the vent with the Audya all the time.

One can use the vent without a separate out, but you have to remember to punch the bypass switch for non organ sounds.

You are one of the few to comment on this great module. I extolled it's virtues a year ago when I first got it. Nobody paid any attention to the post.

After I get better acquainted with the KMA and PS60, I will post a video on my Youtube channel.

As for vArranger, I think it is the best arranger software out there. I trust it to be absolutely stable and great fun to take out. Dan is adding features faster than I can keep up with them

I don't think I will ever use any one thing all the time. I am a gear slut and love trying out new combo's on the audience. One certainly does not get as proficient with one instrument that way, but it is a helluva ride.
Thanks for asking.

Bernie

Tony

You didn't consider the "WOW" factor of blowing people away with a diminutive looking rig.
