Special thanks to Frank at Audioworksct.com for giving me such an amazing price for a new keyboard I ordered, and better still, it came the next day, yesterday.

Here I witnessed first hand what a fine person he is.

Recommend him to anyone looking for good service and good pricing to buy by him.

Hopefully soon I will post some videos.

Well guess what, the best time to use it is at night, and then the neighbor complains. EVEN WHEN IM WEARING HEADPHONES...lol
Guess playing drums on a keyboard aka, hitting the keys real hard can annoy someone....
Well, as I said before, I intend to put up some videos soon playing my native chasidic tunes on the 4.

Hells,

Shim how hard are you hitting the keys, you will break it, think you should have bought a piano, no power require either, fully sustainable. rotf2

Quick review:

The main difference (for me at least) of the tyros 4 vs older Yamaha's (S710, S910, Tyros 2, PSR 1500) is first and formost the "real drums". They are so powerful and real good to get the dance floor on their feet.

I love the SA2 clarinets, and bagpipes, they are so expressive, and very authentic.

Coming from a PSR S710, I love the big color screen, which makes it a pleasure to work on the keyboard.

Now, here's what I find to be A BIG PLUS OVER ALL OTHER TYROS MODELS:
You CAN use Super Articulation voices in custom styles. This is real good for me, as I make my own custom styles, and never was really able to use mega voices (too complicating!) yet now can now use those awesome SA guitars in my own styles. This a first for any yamaha keyboard (er, tyros).

Regarding the choir voices, (which is the bulk of the "upgrade" over tyros 3) I, like Chony, find them to be TOTALLY un-useful and corny. SUCH A WASTE!!! They might as well have added a bunch of more "real" drum kits.

Speaking of drums kits, I noticed there are a couple of "dance" kits which I dont remember ever seeing in other Yamaha's. I'm speaking of the "drum machine" and "T8 T9" kits. Their really good for techno and dance beats.

What I dont like about this; is the size of this thing. There's pretty much NO standard case that fits the tyros well without being too big or small. From all the people i've spoken too, they suggested getting a custom one. Mind you, I do intend on traveling with this thing.

As a side note, me and Chony pretty much play the same style/genre of (Jewish) music. Which is why I followed his choice of Yamaha vs. Korg as I play very similar to his style.

Thats just a few brief points I wanted to share about my new board.

Feel free to ask me any qeustions. I will try to answer them.

Shim
