I've been looking at mp3 players to use as a laptop/winamp backup, for break music and some backing tracks. Seems like there's nothing new in mp3 players, in fact, possibly killed by the smart phone.

Is anyone using their smartphone for mp3 playback? Music quality as good as dedicated mp3 player? Brand recommendations?

I use my Iphone 4s all the time for mp3's and it's my TWO laptops backup just in case I always carry two gotta have backup ...always with you on your belt in pinch or maybe when you in a wedding main room setup on stage and have to play a cocktail hour on a terrace outside and need a quick mp3 player to pull off the hour background music with a powered speaker.....
