Hi Diki

The Abacus is part of the organ range, with the pro model including a 76 note lower manual, stand; swell pedal (With switches) and a pedalboard (Including Toe pistons) plus internal speakers and amplification.

The arranger is the Pegasus Wing and is priced at €2600 Inc. 19% VAT all in, (The Wing also includes the VB3 VST for additional organ sounds) which is the one that is relevant to this forum.

Hope this helps

Bill

BTW: The Abacus Pro is £12,000 so not sure where you got the £8000 from, also since 2010 the single keyboard version is no longer available. (Perhaps the price list you have is from the now defunct Wersi manufacture) best place for prices is www.musicstore.de (The owners of the Wersi brand name)

Hi Diki

I missed that one, prices have dropped significantly since it was rumoured to be re-launched earlier this year.

However as I mentioned, it’s the Pegasus Wing that is the most relevant for this forum, with the rest mentioned purely as originally they were the only single manual instrument available from Wersi.

Diki,

You know if you want the very best you need to put your hand deep in your pockets, Wersi is the best in the organ dept.

Wersi won't wear cheap skates... rotf2 www/cs

The day I hear a Wersi Wing demo that DOES sound 'the very best', then I won't question how deep into your pockets you need to go.

Until then...

Wersi has always been one of those brands you either love or hate, with no middle ground. (It’s also seldom that either side will move)

The main indications are sales, and Music Store has no problems selling them, also unlike the old days when Wersi was a company (May they RIP) and you could seldom compare them with others, Music Store (Who now own the Wersi Name) have them on the racks side by side with Audyas, Tyros, 4, PA3x etc. so it has to stand on its own two feet, which it does with no problems at all.

There also apparently selling extremely well in China where they are made. The downside is that they sometimes go out of stock at Music Store while they wait for the next shipment to arrive.

As I have mentioned before, the Wing is not for me, (Although I don’t actually hate it) as like all the hardware arrangers out there, it has limited capabilities for what I want from a keyboard, but it is without doubt the fastest selling Wersi ever. (Amazing how fortunes change when the expertise and financial resources are available)
