Back in the day, it was Night Clubs not bars. We had some single couples and some married couples. They did a lot of dancing then. No pool table distractions, computer games, TV etc. Just dancing drinking and smoking.

Iahawk, I got run out of town by the first wife because my son wanted to stay with me. After a while I met a nice lady in got Mississippi married and a bit later we visited Colorado and I flipped over and fell in love with the mountains. I was in to College and Pro ball before I even knew Colorado had mountains. Lol!

Now that was very much the theme of this song I played with a band back in the 80s.

In the South, if you marry into an Alabama University family (or an Auburn U), you have to adopt them, like converting religion, or no-one in the family (including your wife!) will ever talk to you again!

Thing is, I'm from the FL Panhandle, so Tuscaloosa is one of the closest college teams anyway! And the Saints are my closest pro team (particularly as Jacksonville didn't exist when I started going to games in the 80's).

Anyway, if you are going to pick a pro team, picking one where, after they lose (and lose, and lose, and lose! like they did in the 80's and 90's), you walk out of the stadium and take a quick walk down to Bourbon Street to lick your wounds, and it is not all that bad! Some cities, even after you WIN, you don't really want to be there! NOLA has some of the best fans in the League, suffering for so long and still selling out the Superdome! It's a party, win or lose!

You got it right, Larry ... born, raised, and even at my old age MOST of my life was in New York, New York ... YANKEES, GIANTS, KNICKS, RANGERS - although I am not really much of a basketball or hockey fan ...

Interestingly, though, there are a LOT of GIANTS fans in li'l rhody from before the 'Puts' ever existed ...
