Head is a bit fried trying to work out what would be best to go for. I like the inbuilt speakers on the S950 although it is not a deal breaker with the T4 requiring a separate source as the board will primarily be used in a home studio environment.

Trying instore never really gives me an ideal feel as you're trying in a shop with other people walking around and don't have the time and comfort to try properly.

So I'm hoping I can just get others views on this topic. Do you still think the T4 will be a "superior" sounding instrument and I'm thinking with the rrp being obviously more expensive it is still the TOTL arranger and therefore the more sought after keyboard? But the 950 is new to the scene.....

One query regarding "audio drums". Will these be on all/majority of styles on the 950?

Thanks for reading and I'd appreciate any comments. I think the s950 is retailing around the £1600 mark and a pre-owned T4 is probably around £2100. Decisions, decisions........

There are currently only 25 audio styles on the PSRS950 and Yamaha will be selling more on their yamahamusicsoft website sometime in the future. The Tyros4 has all those vocal articulation sounds which the 950 doesn't have. They really are 2 different keyboards.

But does the 950 have the new drums that first were introduced on Tyros 4?
Thanks,
DonM

I would assume that the T4 should be a lot more...
If it were me, it would pretty much come down to what you can afford. If you can afford it, the Tyros line in general is far better than the PSR series, but if not, the PSR S950 sounds like it should give you some good bang for the buck.
Disclaimer: I've only played the T3 and S910 (and I have a PSR 3000), but I never actually played the T4 or the S950.
Good luck either way!

Yes. It does. You mean the "real drums" kit, right?

Right. I read the manual briefly and they were listed, but I wanted to be sure.
Thanks,

I actually heard the real drums over the phone with George, and it sounded very much like the one on the tyros 4. A big powerful sound.
Oh, also the "wah" guitar, sounded really really good.

I was just on Henni's Audya thread listening to his demos. So, these 'real drums' on the S950, how do they compare to the Audya's drums? Up to now, I've not been a huge fan of Yamaha's drums so I'm curious as to how these new ones stack up.
