Many of the styles he is playing on this demo are not audio styles but rather pro styles. When you see a style in the video with "green" icons these are not audio styles but rather using drum kits within the 950. At first I thought he had additional audio styles because I was not recognizing these as the ones inside my demo unit at my store but as I watched and listened I realized these were many additional styles inside the keyboard that one might think could be audio styles but are not.

Thanks for sharing Larry !! Some of
them sound so different to the MIDI drums that its like having an Audya and PSR all the while smile Not all sound like Audio styles but sound like good MIDI drumkits.

It would be nice if the users could download the audio styles in the genre they like to play .. if its expansion packs then 64 Mb is far too less. Hope the T5 gets something like a 512 MB or 1 GB for such expansions. But I am happy with the variety in sound offered through audio styles. Wish all styles were audio or even better ... high quality samples used in MIDI styles. smile

I don't see a point in having dance audio styles.I mean club music.First of all they are not real drums to begin with.I am not saying they sound bad,but it's a waste of space.Still no one is saying how these audio drums work.Do they go to ram or something else???
I still believe audio drums are waste of time and space.Good drum engine with great drums would sound the same.I mean something like these vst drums(bfd2,Steven Slate drums,Superior Drummer etc...).
If we have to buy all these audio styles, than keyboard itself should be much cheaper.
And I am for that.To choose which styles to have on your keyboard.

Anybody know why the skimping of internal memory in keyboards when it's so darn cheap. I bought a 64G micro-SD card for about 60 or 70 bucks. Heck, I even got a 120G SSD from amazon for $99. So why, on a nearly $5k keyboard, would they limit internal RAM to 64Mb and to add insult to injury, not allow the process using that RAM to access an external card. Anybody know?

still wondering if the Voice/Style expansion kits like the Brazil one are functional in the 750/950....

the "Latin" styles in those demos are only a teeny step up from the last gen boards. they seem to mix very typical Yamaha percussion with a few more idiomatic-sounding instruments....I would buy one of these boards if I knew I'd be able to expand the percussion voices (and styles)...sure wish Yamaha was clearer on this.

How many songs do you think you could do in a night using one of these audio styles, especially the latin ones, before your audience would notice the backing being the same?

If it's a genre I play a lot of, I usually need 3-4 to avoid them sounding cookie-cutter.

I've found that limiting the use of the same auto intros and endings helps disguise the styles that are used frequently. It took me a while to figure that out. By creating my own intros and, maybe, using a fade-out ending or first-ending button, I've been able to get away with the same style used in many songs.
