In the demo's I have loaded the Pa3x styles into the Pa600.

The Pa3x demo is recorded from the Korg website and the Pa600 was recorded from the headphone output on the Pa600.

See what you think, the EQ on the Pa600 is set differently to the Pa3x but it is set for my PA.

It sounds good on pa600.Nothing you can't fix on eq.I use digital mixer and my arranger goes through eq,sonic maximizer and multiband compressor.It's much better then MAXX audio on pa3.

I will probably change my bk5 for pa600.I am still thinking because styles on Roland are great.But,I hate what they did with user styles.Pretty much every style that I use I will correct it to my liking.So,I ended up using only styles from usb.I don't even touch style panels.It would be nice if factory styles could be overwritten.Even sounds.it's too complicated.Too bad.I love the styles.

I would probably overwrite all styles on pa600.I would use pa3 styles.

There are a lot more styles in the pa3x and also you can load the Pa3x Misicant styles which are loaded into the Favorite and user banks so they don't overide the factory styles.

I agree they sound quite good on the 600, and that's a nice bounus for sure.

Now I don't know what to do. I'm looking for something new, but do I go with the S-950(always had a Yamaha) or the PA600 (never had a Korg)

It is nice that the PA600 can load the styles of the PA3x but will never sound as good as on the PA3x because the PA600 doesn't have all the sounds the PA3X have.

Larry, I presume you own a PSR910 at the moment ?
What I have missed so far in all the discussions on the merits of both Yamaha PSR950 and Korg PA600 is the tremendous difference in price. As you may recall I still own the old and dated PSR900, which is actually not too bad, all the more so as it is my side-kick to the Korg PA800.
Getting back to the issue at hand, I played the PSR950 for about an hour and though an improvement over the 910 I was not that much impressed that I had the feeling "I want one ".
I guess what I am saying is this:
If you can afford to splash out just over 2000 bucks my bet would be to go for the PA600 + the PSR910 (secondhand). If you already own a PSR910 I think you would be wise to add a PA600 instead of partchanging it for a 950. For that same amount you will have the benefit of both, only lacking the innovations of the 950.............

My arranger keyboard is a Yamaha PSR-3000, so the S950, or the PA600 would be a step up. Anymore, I only play out, on occasion, so this would basically be a home keyboard for fun.

I do like your PSR 910/PA600 combo idea, also suggested by Ian. Maybe I'll just keep the PSR-3000, still in excellent condition, and pair it with the PA600. That would be a real bargain, with lots of features.
