Thanks for the link and heads up, Shim. Man, one of the nicest perks of my job is getting the opportunity to play and demo these awesome new Clavinova CVP instruments. Even better, I have two local clients (actually, more like good friends now) who are anxiously awaiting the CVP-609, so I will also have more time on the instruments than usual, when I go to their homes to help them get accustomed to their new piano/arrangers. What didn't surprise me was that there are no Audio Drum styles on the CVP. I had a feeling they are more in line with the portable arranger division, and, who knows, the Tyros5 just might have them. Also, I had heard a rumor there would be a "Touch Screen" on the CVP-609, however, whether this will carry over to the Tyros5, is hard to say, as the two divisions often keep some things exclusive to their products. Despite the lofty price, these instruments do very well...quite a few of the previous model, the CVP-509, were sold, as were the older series "-09" models. One of my friends has a CVP-109, and he is very excited about this CVP-609, especially since there are so many new features available since he bought his instrument. These instruments are an absolute joy to play, especially if you have a piano background, and, of course, that's who will be interested most in the product...certainly not most of the pro giggers here on SZ that can barely tolerate anything over 33 lbs (me included ![blush blush](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/blush.gif) )....no, this puppy is for the living/music room and destined for permanent setup. I think fellow SZ'er, Stephenm52, had, or has a CVP Clavinova. They also appeal to hotels, and many have been sold for their bars/lobbies. I'm not sure if Roland is still making the KR-series, which was the CVP's direct competition, and I don't think Korg has a product like this either, so it will be interesting to see if the Clavinova CVP will have the market to itself. Thanks again, Shim. Ian

My wife has a ten year old CVP which she loves, except for the rather loud key clunk. I understand the realism of hammer simulation, but this is excessive. Any fix ?

Bernie Hi Bernie, This seems to be a fairly rare occurrence, as I have seldom had any reports of noisy keys...however, it obviously occasionally does happen. If all (or most of) the keys are clunking, then it is probably a prematurely worn felt strip/pad that is under the keybed, and I think this can be replaced with a new part. Here is a YouTube clip of the key removal/replacement/repair of a 10 year old CLP Clavinova. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8HzWe0p2Tg Also, there is some great information on this Clavinova CVP Forum, and perhaps someone there has already done the deed with key noise repair. http://www.cvpug.com/ I hope these links give you some help. Yamaha has always been making it's own hammer actions for as long as I've been with the company (over 25 years), and they are considered by many pros, like Stevie Wonder and Mike McDonald (of Doobie Brother's fame) to name a few, as one of the best available today. I occasionally use the Yamaha P-85 and P-95 as an 88-note controller for my Tyros4, when I have the periodic need for full piano-feel keyboard control. For a very reasonable price, they manage to utilize a beautifully weighted graded hammer action, that is a real delight to play. Do you still have and use the Audya? AJ has done some terrific support work on it, don't you agree? Ian

I liked it enough to sell my 5 foot 8 Samick grand 5 years ago, it's not the Samick that's for sure, but I don't have to have a piano technician 2 or 3 times per year at $100 per visit to keep it sounding at it's best.
