Just got back from a regularly scheduled trip to the Mid-East.

Warts and all, we really need to appreciate where we are and the freedom we take for granted.

Most in the world are not nearly so lucky.

I saw a guy gunned down in the street by government officials....30 feet or so from me.

Was told that this is a common thing in this part of the world and that I should NEVER leave the compound by myself.

Think I'll continue to go back, but will be way more careful than I have been.

Yep we could go all political here and say "To avoid getting shot, the US may not be the safest Country in the World"...but I won't go down that road, because, despite her faults, the USA is still a great place to live. ...and Canada too
