I am deeply desappointed on that update...Near by one year Ketroners nead to make that 2.8 Mb file.
I am allredy update my mchine and only news is in :Mode--Chords2/2--F2 GUITAR MODE--ON/OFF.Dont know what is this cos like in the past explanation from Ketron coming mounts after update.

today I got the ( german ) Ketron newsletter...

NO INFORMATION about the new os !!!

Neverthelass I downloaded and installed it, it works

But a few timing-problems still consist ( switching from one registration to another sometimes needs a second or more !!! )

I wrote an email to the german Ketron company, as soon as i´ll get answers I´ll post them here

the "more than one second" was with my Audya5 OS 4.2B ( and didn´t improve with 5.0 )

is everyone updating to OS 5 before their important New Years gig?
i'm a bit hesitant to be honest

and finally Ketron.it lists what's new with OS5
but it is so hidden,
you have to choose your instrument, then click that very small "News" word to find out more about it

why not just list it there on the main page, so we don't have to guess where it is

I think the only reason NOT to make the change yet is because it will reset some of your global parameters, for example "EASY 1" will be the default for arranger chord recognition. Its small but could potentially cause problems on your gig if you did not realise. I guess also you would need to make sure ACCORDION MODE is off if your using an A4 with a keyboard rather than accordion?

I have no concerns over stability though.

about install os5 before 31 december I think is problem of all people. I do it, not problem only reset some to defaule like easy mode, or list os single registration put to "number" (I use always a.b.c.. like talk tonewhell... I think I don't be afraid about it

When I connect on back I get the "USB" screen on Audya but don't know where to go from there... nothing happens. I have update downloaded into computer and Audya connected and "USB"
window on Audya and can't seem to go any further. Downloaded installation instructions but they are terrible, don't say when to turn Audya on during the process or anything.

instalation instruction is wery clear,and you cant make a mestake.

Pleas read cerfoly and start with USB conection in back USB socket.

Just finished the 4th attempt at os5 update install... nothing.
After the step where it tells you to click twice on the Audya4 icon and plug the Audya4 into computer, the next step says to click on "start updating command". There is no "start updating command" to click on. I always end-up in same place. Looks like I'm stuck on my current os level until I figure out where to send this unit for repair. Having fun with music shouldn't be this complicated :-(

I doubt very much it needs repairing. I presume you do have an Audya 4?

First of all make sure the Audya and the computer are talking to each other. If you plug the audya into your PC, does it say USB connected? If no your probably in USB HOST mode.

If the answer is YES, then un-install the program from your computer using the add/remove programs option in control panel, then re-install the program to your computer, once you have done so connect your computer to your Audya, wait until you see "USB Connected" on the Audya and then launch the updater program.

Let me know how you get on.

TWD, been there, done that, exactly as you describe at least 4 times. Progress stops exactly the same place every time. The message on Audya screen does say "USB connected". If I do not locate a repair shop within reasonable distance it won't be the end of the world... the Audya works fine the way it is.

I sent gruhs a link to the .mem file to bypass the windows installer (I think he/she has an administrator issue) and update directly from the Audya usng F10/Unplugged, but he/she decided not to update the Audya as its working fine with OS4.2.

So the answer is...there isn't one. You know as much as me :-/

I would like to know too, but If gruhs is happy to continue with 4.2 then we are at an impasse

So for now I am very much in the dark also. As I mentioned its possible there are administrator issues with Windows, but there is no way to be certain.

I do know of one other person this happened to (a SZ member - not from the UK), but his issue was very complex and required a few levels of fixes, essentially though it was due to 1) Non standard hard drive fitted. 2) Instrument forced with incorrect OS. (which is normally impossible to achieve).

I hate to leave things unfinished, but not much else we can do here for now.

As TWD mentioned I have decided to leave well enough alone and not proceed with OS5 update, beyond just selecting styles and playing along at home for my own enjoyment I find I am in way over my head with the Audya. I enjoy playing using it but most of what is discussed here on the board is beyond my ability to comprehend. I have no local dealers or help around here and am just afraid to mess up a unit that is so far working fine. Anyway thanks Dusan and TWD for your attempted help. I will continue to follow the board even though most of the discussions are "over my head" :-)

I have tested the .msi with Windows XP and Windows 7, both ran without problems. I have not tried vista (and hopefully never will!).

If you ordered the UK style pack the .mem files or on the USB stick so you can just copy those to your Audya's root directory and bypass the Windows installer.

Ok finally got update installed. Problem was when the program is downloaded it puts a shortcut icon on desktop ( the installer) and when you double click that icon it puts another icon on the screen which I hadn't noticed. After discovering that everything went fine

Something is wrong in 5.0

In Style View when i play live, i change the volume of low1, low2 or chord1 (global) and its change the volume of the bass also.( in mode sigle is ok) i thing its necesary repararing soon thes problem.
