Yamaha, korg, Audya(Ketron), and Roland, all have their own characteristic sound (and features), and
probably always will...it's called "choice".
If we can't warm up to the sound of an Audya or korg, it's very gratifying to know we have the choice of a Yamaha or Roland...or vice versa.
The player buys the instrument that has the sound (and features) he/she prefers and/or best suits their needs.
T'was no different many years ago when players chose between the characteristic sound of Moog, Roland ARP, Sequential Circuits, Oberheim, Yamaha synthesizers...there were fanboys for each and every manufacturer, and like some arranger buyers on SZ, a few bought more than one brand.
