Hello,

I notice that My Audya refuse to perform any task's to a USB-stick.

When i insert a Stick, it appears as normally in the Disk-screen as D:\REMOV, but i can't perform any tasks (wether Copy files, or Delete files, or Format the stick) to it.
Reading from the disk, on the other hand, is no problem.

I run a Checksum-test, where i notice that i got two errors :

F2: KetA02 86AC504E 88F51D49 ERR
F5: KetA05 E21D4766 E21817F5 ERR

All other checksums, as all other Test's, are oke.

What can be wrong here ?
Can i solve this ?

Second problem :

I try to make a Image from the internal harddisk.
I branched my Audya with my PC, and run Acronis True Image.
After about 3/4 reading from the Audya's harddisk, the harddrive begins to spinning and i get a error-message from Acronis that it is impossible to read from Sector xxxxxxx.

Is there something wrong with Audya's harddisk ?
Is there a way to solve this ? Or do i better install a new Harddisk in order to prevend problems in the future ?

(Installed is Release 5.0 from the UK-style Pendrive.)

Thanks in advance for any advice or help,

Carlo

Carlo,

There appears to be a problem with the HD but we can test further off line.

Please contact us at Ketron_tech@yahoo.com for more evaluation and a possible solution.

Thanks,

AJ

I must point out - If you have tried to copy all the data in one go Windows will almost always report a "Cyclic redundancy error" and tell you there is damage. In fact even copying the entire Audio drum folder in one go may have the same results and may even cause damage!

99% of the time this is a false message and simply means the Computer and Audya have lost communication.

You should always copy data in smaller sections, one folder at a time except Audio drums where I recommend splitting the file transfer.

I'm sure AJ will let you know how to repair KETA06 (02 is not an error as he will explain to you)

Hi Carlo,

the best solution is to open the Audya case, unplug the HD form Audya and plug it via an "USB to IDE Adaptor" to a PC.

The the copy-process needs only 30 Minutes !

Donīt forget to use the "sector-copy" mode, otherwise your backup will not be correct !!!

AfaIk formatting an USB-Stick is not possible with Audya.

If you canīt write on it : Is it possible that itīs write protected ( sometimes these small sliders move while plugging in the stick ! )?
Whatīs the Filesystem on the stick ? You should use FAT32 instead of NTFS.

This is wath i allready have done. Still impossible to make an image of the disk. After a while, Harddisk beginns to spinning and i get a message from Acronis : "Can not read from Sector xxxxxxxx" I think something is wrong with the Harddisk.

I was able to copy all the Data from the Harddisk. Can I simply copy the data to a new harddisk and plug it in my Audya ?

I can still write to the USB-stick. Only formatting is not working, weather it is formatting a USB-stick, or a new (SSD)-Harddisk

It is FAT32

Carlo.
