Hello, folks!

I was offered to take part in casting of demonstrator-guys (dont know how to put it in English) which is taking place in my country, so I made a short video of myself playing the PSR-3000:

A very nice demo of the PSR3000 well played as usual.
Thanx for sharing your work with us. The PSR 3000 continues to be one of the all time classic Arranger KB's. Bravo.

Nicely done ... clap ... my only suggestion would be that you smile a little to show that you are enjoying playing as much as the audience is enjoying listening ...

If you are trying to become a demonstrator, I would suggest that, after you show how obviously talented you are, show how easy it is to operate and sound good on the 3000.
Do some simple things, one or two note melodies that people recognize. And it would help to explain to the audience what you are doing.
You are such a good player that it might intimidate people into thinking they have to be that good to enjoy an arranger!
And yes, smile! smile

Thank you fellows!

DonM, yeah, that makes sense. I was aiming to the casting crew so I could have tried too hard. But we’ll see, I guess….

I love my 3000s. And, I agree with my aging compatriot, DonM. If you're going to demo the keyboard, show your audiences/students how you make that incredible machine do what it does.

Well, they liked my video (but not only mine) and today I was in the office of Yamaha Corp Russia in Moscow. Today was my second visit there, the first one was last Thursday, and today the seminar with Peter Baartmans took place there. He was teaching me and 6 other people how to present the keyboard properly. The Yamaha wants us to help them sell the PSR-S750 and PSR-S950. Tomorrow will be the second which is also the last day of the seminar.

Hello folks!

So the second day of this school is over. Peter told us some things about the keyboards and tried to teach us how to present it. I think the point was that we realized that it’s not a simple task. Each of us went on stage and made a short presentation on PSR-S950 and there always were some lame moments. Well, anyway the Yamaha Corp hasn’t said to us what exactly we can expect. There will be one more meeting with Peter in June and probably it will be clearer then. They also didn’t give the keyboard to any of us but they allowed us to come into their office and to play it there.

Here are some videos and photos I made today. There’s no me in the shot since I was the man behind the camera.

And thank you all sincerely for your support. It’s nice to be able to share parts of you life which involve keyboards with someone who gets it.

This sounds like the opportunity of a lifetime ... give it everything you've got ...

A couple of questions ...
Are the headphones only so that each individual can be playing without disturbing anyone else?
Does everyone speak English?
What PA system were they using?

thank you

Bet you anything this sort of thing won't happen in the USA. I don't think anyone in corporate over here is the slightest bit interested in promoting and selling arrangers.

tony mads usa, All audio devices that I saw in that office were Yamaha ones. They gave us headphones so that we could get familiar with the keyboards and get ready for our presentations. Not all of us could speak English that's why there was a translation.

Talented young man!

Makes me happy that he's a part of this group.

He certainly has a bright future in some part of the keyboard business.

Thanks,

Russ

This is all just so awesome! I am so fascinated by howYamaha are committed and show their commitment to the Arranger market. They are giving their employees and demonstrators actual proper training. And are not afraid to let others see how it's done. Absolutely outstanding. I only wish such opportunities existed in the UK.

They do, the last addition was Ian House to Yamaha about 18 months ago however keyboard distributers in this country tend to go for players that have already played regularly in public.

The demonstrators of the various manufactures are also regularly invited to the main headquarters (Japan for Yamaha) to keep them abreast of the latest developments, as well as to provide input for future products.

The PSR-3000 will probably go down in the history of Yamaha arranger keyboards as among the best ever for it's time. It has been a real workhorse for many performers throughout the world and continues to do a fantastic job for many. My 3000 provided me with more than a decade of excellent service and never had a problem in thousands of performances.

Great song my Russian friend, and I absolutely love the accompanying video.
