Yep, I'm on my way, left Marathon March 3rd and made it to Stuart, Florida this evening. Met up with Eddie Shoemaker, he took me grocery shopping, and bright and early tomorrow morning I'll be back in the Intra-Coastal Waterway. With luck I'll be making 50 to 60 miles a day, but because of draw bridges and tidal currents, if I make 45 miles a day I'm quite happy. It's now just 20 days to Norfolk, VA, then another 4 to 4 days up Chesapeake Bay to home.

I'm fortunate in this leg of the trip to have my good friend and sailing instructor with me, which gives me time to shoot more photos, get something to eat and drink, and even time to just relax. Sure makes life a lot easier with an experienced sailor onboard.

Cheers,

Gary cool

A 'snowbird' friend of mine in FL for the Winter sent me an e-mail a week or so ago, saying that the long-range forecast from acuweather.com showed no snow for New England for the rest of the season ... since then there have been two major snow storms ... so much for forecasting ...
This past Thursday and Friday NE was pounded with snow - up to 2 feet in some areas ... RI was somehow spared ... in one are of there was 1 1/2 feet of snow in MA and 20 miles away in RI there was NONE ...
