Some of the voice depend on the musical instrument of each country. I would like to make a voice from my country like Vietnam
This is a sample of that instrument: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37qw5vNyYzE

How do I create it in Audya?

Thanks

First off, you will have to sample/record it digitally in say 5 notes per octave across the entire 88 notes (if instrument doesn't span this high and low or far, you can then attempt to sample/record every note).

Next copy these samples into the AUDYA'S HD (Wave folder to be exact). You may create a sub-folder in this folder to accomplish this so as to distinguish from other future sounds/instruments).

Now in AUDYA:-
* Press WAVE to access the wave folder.
* Press EDIT to enter the WAVE EDITOR
* Use MSP to assign each of these new samples to each of the keys. You may use the LFO editors (F6-F10) to further tune your sound.
* When done, SAVE your MSP file.
** TO recall - press DISK - go to MSP - load your new sound (made up of all the samples you recorded above).

Thanks,

AJ

Someone told me that you can only use 32 mono wav samples per MSP file.

It's complicaste than I though.

What do I need to record an instrument ?

A microphone plugged into the "MIC" input of your sound card or your computer. Some computers have a built-in microphone (for example, IMacs) that can also be used. However, quality of such microphones is often very poor.To ensure recording can be performed on your computer. For example, on Windows, open the recording sound mixer, and enable microphone recording while disabling other input sources.
The system recording level to be well adjusted, by recording a piece of sound with another utility (on Windows, the system recorder) then, if you are using the Windows version, ensure the right digital input device is selected in "Configuration>Hardware configuration".

Which notes to play ? for example : from C, first octave to E, 4th octave

RICHARDS,
If you have to record the samples yourself with a mic, the quality won't be great (unless under studio setting conditions). The goal is to have individual samples of each note within each octave ... so to get the best quality, you would want to record at least 76 notes across the keyboard. Now you can use whatever recording device you have (hand held, computer ...), so long as you save the final individual wave files as *.wav.

Then you can proceed as above to load them and assign into the instrument. Recording using a mic into the AUDYA (to create your original samples) should be the last resort if you cannot capture the sound any other way.

Thanks

AJ

PS: You may also be able to purchase these samples on line (find who has already recorded this Vietnamese instrument and get the samples from them).
